Dodge Library Kicks Off Summer Program

Each year about this time, Leslie MacGregor, librarian for the town of Bennington, launches the summer reading program at the Dodge Library with a visit of introduction at Pierce School. “Libraries Rock”, the 5 week reading program beginning on July 5th through August 3rd features a musical tour through summer reading.  There will be stories, crafts, workshops, games, and field trips for readers of all ages to enjoy.  This year, Mrs. MacGregor invited the talented Steve Blunt to join her during her visit to Pierce School for an hour of sing along songs and stories. Steve Blunt is an award-winning children’s musician from New Hampshire. His repertoire includes songs and stories for all ages which are fun and educational. Along with songs of his own making, Steve’s shows feature traditional American and multicultural material. The halls rocked Monday with rousing renditions and laughter as the whole school joined in with Steve’s songs and stories. Thank you Dodge Library for an afternoon of fun. We know the summer program will rock!
