On March 9, the PTO sponsored an Owl Prowl at the Harris Center for Conservation Education in Hancock. Susie Spikol-Faber led an interactive discussion about owls that included a special kid friendly drawing of owl adaptations. Students viewed various owl mounts including the large Great Horned Owl and small Saw-Whet. The excitement continued when we went outside to practice calling the Barred Owl. Children learned the call and took turns trying to get these silent flyers to communicate. Although we didn’t have success, families learned how to call and can try doing so at home! Happy owling!
