On October 25th, Fourth Grade Teacher, Valerie Germain, Special Education Teacher, Darlene Demetrion and Title 1 Teacher, Judith Parsons had a blast sharing many games, and techniques with parents to help them keep homework fun at home.
The evening began with free pizza and a short video about the “importance of reading with your child”. Staff shared with parents how a salt tray can be useful for math fact, sight word, and spelling pattern practice.
Parents were also shown many math games simply using a deck of cards or a set of dominoes. Popsicle sticks can be used to play Moose and flash cards for Peek a Boo to help learn sight words and develop long term memory.
Child care was provided by high school students Molly Cole, Haiden Burnside, and Lilly James. Fun was had by all.
