Facilitated by Judith Parsons, Title 1 teacher, Pierce School was awarded a CLiF Community Building Grant in November. The Childrens Literacy Foundation (CLiF) is an organization whose aim is to inspire a love of reading and writing among children throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. The intent of this grant is to build a connection for our students along with community members from within the Conval district to the joys of shared reading.
Collaborating with RiverMead, the residents have already visited Pierce School and plan to continue their visits throughout the 2018-2019 school year. Seniors and students, K-4, will read to each other, connecting with a shared story and good conversation. During the first visit, there were smiles all around. Thank you Judith for arranging this inspirational program for the students at Pierce.
