For many years the children at Pierce School have made the walk down the main street of Bennington, past 100 year old homes and the Country Store to the beautiful brick building on the corner. Passing through its copper doors into the GEP Dodge Library, the students in Ms. Cannon’s Kindergarten are welcomed by Mrs. MacGregor, librarian, and right away they know that they are in for a treat, a special story read aloud, just for them. When the story ends, it is time to hunt for some real treasure, a new book, a favorite book, a great book to bring back to school to read and reread and enjoy until…one day Ms. Cannon announces…”Guess where we are going?”
