Todd Goodwin, storyteller, will be joining us for our Title I Family Literacy Night THIS WEEK, Wednesday April 20th from 5:30PM – 7:30PM. We will be having pizza from Rick and Diane’s, listening to stories, singing songs and playing literacy games. There will also be a message from our town librarian, Leslie MacGregor, about summer reading and library cards.
The PTO will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair the week of April 18th at Pierce. Students will be visiting the book fair with their classrooms this week. Please feel free to send money to school with your child if you would like them to purchase a book(s) at the book fair this week. The book fair will also be open Wednesday,

In the fall, NHPBS came and filmed the 3rd grade class at Pierce and the work we are doing with the turtle hatchling program. The turtle “head starting” program is in collaboration with the Harris Center for Conservation Education and NH Fish Game. We are following Zoo New England’s protocols for caring for the turtles and all turtles that were harvested will be raised in our classroom and released in May.
The students were challenged with building marshmallow building with only 20 marshmallows and 10 tooth picks.
Pierce School 3rd & 4th-grade students have been invited to tour the Applied Technology Center (ATC) at Conval High School this Wednesday, February 9th to help celebrate National CTE month.
ATC offers students the opportunity to participate in career and technology education programs such as:

Our students are very excited to attend the ConVal High School’s production of Frozen JR. on February 16th! This will be our first official field trip of the year. Please watch for permission slips.
As you are aware the ConVal School District is providing the opportunity for rapid antigen tests in school. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity and have not yet signed the permission to test for your student, please contact our school nurse for detailed instructions.
